Russell Crowe is preparing to pay $NZ15.3 million to the New York hotel clerk whom he is accused of assaulting, a British newspaper has reported.

The problem? 15.3 million New Zealand dollars is not 6 million US dollars. It's about 10.8 million US dollars. HuffPo also links to this story, which refers to 3.3 million British pounds sterling, which is roughly $6 million, but nowhere near $NZ15.3 million.

Huffington Post doesn't care. They just write whatever sounds good, regardless of the facts.
