Yes, he's a socialist and may set back the economy by nationalizing the country's natural gas production. But Morales' election is historic as he will be the first Bolivian President from the oppressed indigenous population. He has also pledged to end the persecution of the indigenous population in the futile and destructive U.S.-led "War on Drugs."
Congratulations to the people of Bolivia and to President-elect Evo Morales.
