What's 80 years old and says, "Would you like fries with that?"A: The average Baby Boomer circa 2030... considering that almost half of them have less than $25K saved for retirement. I'm sure that will take them far. That younger people are barely scraping by is somewhat understandable in light of the incredible rise in cost-of-living over the past 10 years. That many Boomers are struggling, having had 40 years to save in a very affordable environment and a decent economy, is embarrassing.
Anon,That link is really fucked up.They trash the Tea Party, who are the only people trying to cut spending, and they are sympathetic to Obama, who is running the biggest peacetime deficits in history.Fuck Esquire. Left-wing partisan hacks.
OK, the point wasn't partisan hackery... I had just Googled "Boomer average retirement savings", and picked one of the links.Numerous other articles assert the same lack of savings without the political mumbo-jumbo.
