Occupy San Diego video

I'll have a full report on yesterday's Occupy San Diego protest up shortly. In the meantime, here's some video of the march arriving at the civic center.

UPDATE: OK, I lied. I'm not going to get around to a full write-up this weekend, so please see my excellent compatriots Left Coast Rebel, Temple of Mut, and B-Daddy for the scoop.

Looking forward to your report. I am always suprised by the number of manufactured signs on the left that are somehow reported as "grassroots".

However, the number of people in the video is impressive.

WC,
Wasn't all that thrilled with the whole tax the rich chant at the end of the video. As you know, the rich are already taxed, as we all are. The problem is that the cronyism.

"This is the funniest part to me: that leaders of a nation incapable of constructing a coherent consensus about reality can accuse its youth of not having a clear program"

Aahhhh yes.. the pot calling the kettle black as it were...

How did big banks get so big? People walked through the front door and said, "Hello. I'd like to open an account". Careful what you wish for - you might get it.

my favorite part of the video is at the front end with the kid raising his skateboard over his head.

OCW TEXAS STYLE

“Capitalism isn’t the problem,” he said. “Capitalism is being destroyed from within.”

He argued that capitalism has fallen victim to corporate interests that have undermined the tenets of the very system they purport to uphold.

“The playing field is not level any more,” Keeble said.

"To botch things up this badly, you need a host of catalysts at work for the better part of many of our lifetimes. And to top it all off, you need all the traffic lights to be green in all directions."

"Every pillar of our society is to blame -- individuals, government, and business. They all had a role, they all played a part.

Anyone who's ever played a part, wouldn't turn around and hate it.

Anyone who's ever had a heart,
wouldn'turn around and break it.

"So let's just dispense with the bull about who's to blame, shall we? Because we all are."

you kick a dog long enough, it's just a matter of time before it bites you in the ass... the elites and the "worshippers of the elite" or "wannabes" within this country had better take note or those smug fuckin' smiles are gonna get wiped off their faces for 'em. I'm about the most self-centered, self interested, narcissistic motherfucker you're ever likely to meet so I've learned to respect the mob as a means of self-preservation. Whether or not I agree with the message or not is beside the point. Anyone who has ever had a heart, wouldn't turn around and break it.... "The protesters are being told that nothing that they can do will change anything and that they should be grateful for what Wall Street and the ultra-wealthy have done for them." Should get plenty interesting next year when we have a large number of swingin' dicks come back from foreign adventures playing "Call of Duty VIII" in raghead land if said swingin' dicks have a hard time finding any gainful employment... yeah, that should be really interesting....

"The incredible arrogance displayed by so many on Wall Street and by so many in Washington D.C. is absolutely appalling."

"arrogance"
"appalling"

Ever notice how messy things tend to get when human emotions and attitudes get thrown into the mix of arguments?

"As your Occupation of Wall Street continues, you may want to grasp a few things. First, it is not going to change anything in the short term and probably not much in the long-term either."

"I hate to be the bearer of that news, but money makes the world go round and “Wall Street” is all about money. Second, the top traders, banks and hedge funds are still going to out earn and generate substantial profits from speculating on the disconnects in the prices of things generated from all the moving parts in the global economy and it has nothing to do with why you lost your house or job or can’t find a job. If anything the successful ones are helping you, your pensions funds, retirement savings and the economy in general. If Wall Street stops. The world stops. Period."

Hmmmm, "if Wall Street stops, the world stops".... well now, that is some might big britches to fill, don't you think, WC? I'm glad someone is so super duper smart in this world so as to fill them britches.... shit, I'd hate to see us run out of smart people and have Wall Street fail and the whole world get sucked into some sort of black hole in space.... I wouldn't get to take Bing the Wonderdog out pheasant hunting this upcoming season if Wall Street fails..... I swear, I just wanna grab this arrogant sonafabitch with one my hands on his collar and my other hand on his nuts and ask him how it is that he thinks my fuckin' world goes tits up if he were to find himself on the wrong side of the earth's surface.

Yeah that guy is a douchenozzle. Look at him. Plus he claims to use sports psychology to coach traders. In other words, a complete bullshit artist.

That guy doesn't know Wall Street from his asshole.

Bankers are crooks and the "financial innovation" they claim is so vital to the economy is nothing more than leveraging everything up with insane levels of debt, committing some accounting fraud, and taking a piece for themselves.

Happy Super Tuesday!
