As I predicted, Bush's speech used the national guard at the border to take the headlines and draw attention away from his amnesty plan. But he denied that his amnesty plan was really amnesty. Apparently, if illegal aliens pay a fine and then wait a while before becoming U.S. citizens, it's not really amnesty. No, they can stay here, avoid prosecution, keep working, keep getting free health care, keep getting free education for their kids, but that's not amnesty!
